What do you do?

What’s your game? What do you do?
I develop websites. Either from a pretty picture or an idea, I bring the concept to life.

Why do you do it? Do you love it, or do you just have one of those creepy knacks?
I like it when I’m not totally frustrated by it.

Who are your customers? What kind of people would need or want what you offer?
So far my customers are some non-profit organizations in the Charleston area, as well as my old boss who’s gotten me in touch with said organizations. Any business/organization can benefit from hiring me. Places that offer a service need a presence on the web, reaching more people. I can also set up an online store so people selling items can do so online, as well.

What’s your marketing USP? Why should I buy from you instead of the other guys?
I’m a local web developer that will custom-create a website fitted to your needs and do everything possible to fulfill your vision.

What’s next for you? What’s the big plan?
I need to find more customers. Yeah, it’s a continual need.

Everson Photography

I was approached about doing a photography website, so I found some open source software that was almost perfect. It did need some tweaking, though. I modified the css file to adjust the colors and created a logo. I also added a search bar and modified the shopping cart to meet the customer’s specifications.

Making a Photo Gallery Site

Gallery is open source software for making online photo galleries. It has a lot of customization in its web-based administration panel. If that isn’t enough to do what you want, you can change the .tpl files (they work just like .php files). You can change the sizes of tables, change fonts, or even add or delete whole elements. There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel in order to make the site you want.
